The largest IPO in history is coming. Where will all that liquid money go?
SpaceX just filed for an IPO valued at up to $1.75 trillion. When that much capital becomes liquid all at once, where it goes next is the big question.
Meanwhile, spring art auctions in NY cleared $2.5 billion, with 15+ new artist records.
Prized, physical assets with fixed and scarce supply. When the ultra-wealthy get liquid, it’s one of the markets they reach for to diversify.
Masterworks lets you into that art market without needing the nine figures. Its members invest in shares of blue-chip artwork by artists like Banksy, Basquiat and Warhol.
The track record to-date?
$1.3B deployed across 500+ artworks
29 sales to date
Net annualized returns like 16.5%, 17.6%, and 17.8%, not including those unsold*

New farmers, fresh produce: Urban Farm School students bring their first harvest to the Kernersville Farmers Market
There were some new faces behind the tables at the Kernersville Farmers Market this week. A class of beginning small farmers wrapped up a 12-week course with the Forsyth County Urban Farm School, and their final assignment was a fitting one: harvest their crops and sell them to the community.
The program, run by the N.C. Cooperative Extension at the Forsyth County Center, teaches new growers everything from soil health and crop selection to irrigation and business planning, with hands-on sessions on a plot of land in Germanton. Its 12 students filled their market tables with zucchini, carrots, lettuce, radishes and microgreens they grew themselves.
Horticulture agent Celine Richard said the school helps beginning farmers clear the biggest hurdles by providing a small plot of land and plenty of guidance. For Maria Ferentinos, a Stokes County poultry farmer branching into vegetables, it was a first turn on the selling side of the table. “I’ve always been on the other side as a shopper,” she said. “I’ve never been on the other side of the table.”

Beloved Triad ice cream truck Blue Skies Creamery scoops up a Main Street home
A familiar Triad food truck now has a permanent address in downtown Kernersville. Blue Skies Creamery, a family-owned, small-batch ice cream business that got its start scooping from a truck, has opened its first brick-and-mortar shop at 116 N. Main Street.
Co-owners Bret Biance and Alan Hamaoui took on a full renovation of the more-than-70-year-old space, reworking plumbing, electrical and concrete to bring it up to code, then gave it a clean, contemporary look with a big service counter and indoor seating. The shop is known for homemade flavors that rotate month to month.
It is the kind of independent, hometown business that gives downtown Main Street its character, and a sweet stop for a hot Kernersville summer.

Elder Abuse Awareness Walk, Stroll and Roll returns to Triad Park on June 13

The annual event, timed around World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, helps the community learn how to recognize and prevent elder abuse. Walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome, and registration and details are available at ptrc.org/walk.
