A Small Snack Can Mean the World: Help Local Kids This June

A local nonprofit is asking neighbors to help support families in need this June. Crisis Control is collecting fruit snacks for its client-choice food pantries throughout the month.
The organization wants to make sure even the youngest members of the community have something to enjoy. Fruit snacks are a small but meaningful way to brighten a child's day.
Donations can be dropped off at any of the pantry locations. Every package helps a family feel cared for and supported.

Young Dancers Can Explore Ballet, Jazz, and Tap This Summer

This summer, kids ages 7 through 9 can explore three classic dance styles in one fun class. The program combines ballet, jazz, and tap into a single session.
It's designed to help young dancers find their favorite style while building coordination and confidence. Each week introduces new moves and music.
Registration is now open. Families can sign up through the Combo Dance Class link on the KPRD linktree page at https://linktr.ee/kprd Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Let the summer of creativity begin.2
A Cup of Coffee and a Chance to Change a Child's Life

Savage Roasters Coffee is turning its June sales into a lifeline for local foster families. Each time you stop by this month, you'll have the chance to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar.
Every penny from those rounded-up cents will go directly to Family Room, a foster care resource center that serves children and families in our community. Family Room isn't just a place to pick up supplies.
It's a safe, loving space where kids who often arrive with nothing can find comfort and acceptance. They get beds, clothes, toys, strollers, cribs, and blankets, all at no cost to the families who foster them.
More than that, they get a sense of being loved, valued, and important. The center works to make sure every child knows they matter.
For foster families, this support can be a game changer, helping them provide stability and warmth during a difficult time. By choosing to round up your coffee purchase, you're helping Family Room keep its doors open and its shelves stocked.
It's a small act that adds up to a big difference for kids who need it most. So next time you're at Savage Roasters, take a moment to give back.
Your spare change can change a child's world.3
Behind the scenes at Duke Energy: Operators work around the clock to keep the lights on during storm season

As hurricane season begins, Duke Energy is deploying upgraded grid technology and stronger infrastructure to restore power faster across North Carolina. The company's Charlotte-based control center is coordinating around-the-clock efforts, including a self-healing network that has already saved millions of hours of outage time. Crews are asking for patience as they work through what could be an active storm season.4
